SEO Foundation Review

Find out why your website
isn't showing up.

A one-time, plain-English review of your site's SEO basics for $350 to $500. No jargon, no scare tactics, no long contract. Just a clear, prioritized list of what to fix first.

The easiest first step when your site is underperforming

You know something is off. The website looks fine, but the inbox is quiet, and searching for your own services turns up everyone except you. The SEO Foundation Review is a one-time review of your site's SEO basics, written in plain English, for $350 to $500.

It is the right first step when you know the site is underperforming but you are not ready to commit to a rebuild. We check the fundamentals search engines actually care about and tell you, in order, what is worth fixing. The review works whether your site is custom-built, on WordPress, or on Squarespace. And if you are wondering whether the platform itself is part of the problem, our guide to choosing the right platform for SEO walks through that decision honestly.

What we review

Eight fundamentals. These are the basics that most underperforming sites get wrong, and the ones that can usually be fixed without a rebuild.

  • Site structure review
  • Page title and meta description review
  • Heading structure review
  • Speed and performance notes
  • Indexability basics
  • Image alt text review
  • Local SEO and NAP basics
  • Priority recommendations

What you walk away with

A prioritized list of recommendations in plain English, ordered by impact. The point is a list you can actually act on: hand it to any developer, work through it yourself, or have us implement it. It is your list either way.

One more thing worth knowing before you book: if you decide to move forward with a larger SEO package within 30 days, the cost of the review is credited toward it. You are not paying for a diagnosis and then paying again for the cure.

Who it is for, and who should skip it

The best fit is an existing website that has been live for a while but does not bring in inquiries. Maybe it was built years ago, maybe by someone who has since moved on, and nobody has ever checked whether the fundamentals are in place. That is exactly the situation the review is built for.

Who should skip it: anyone we are already building a website for. Every website we build includes a technical SEO foundation, so a new BURDS NERDS site does not need a separate review. And if the review turns up problems that run deeper than SEO, such as a site that fails on phones or has outgrown its structure, a website redesign may be the more honest answer, and we will say so plainly.

Where it can lead, only if you want it to

The review stands on its own. There is no pressure to buy anything else, and no pitch deck at the end. But if you do want help acting on the list, here is what that can look like.

SEO Buildout, from $950

One-time implementation: keyword mapping, page title and meta description writing, heading structure, internal linking, alt text and schema recommendations, and on-page SEO implementation where appropriate.

SEO Growth Plan, from $249/mo

Ongoing work: blog and content planning, Search Console review, metadata updates, content optimization, performance and ranking notes, and monthly recommendations.

Take the list and run

Work through the recommendations yourself, or hand them to a developer you already trust. We are happy either way.

One thing you will never hear from us: a ranking guarantee. We do not promise specific rankings. Full SEO service details and pricing are on the pricing page.

Common questions

A one-time review of your site covering site structure, page titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, speed and performance, indexability basics, image alt text, and local SEO and NAP basics. It ends in a prioritized list of recommendations in plain English, ordered by impact, that you can hand to any developer or have us implement.

Yes. The review works on custom-built, WordPress, and Squarespace sites, because the fundamentals we check matter on every platform. Wherever your site lives, the recommendations are written so they can be acted on there.

No. We do not promise specific rankings, and we suggest being wary of anyone who does. Search results depend on factors nobody fully controls. What we can do is make sure your site gives search engines a clean, readable foundation and that the basics are working for you instead of against you.

The SEO Foundation Review is the diagnosis: a one-time check of your site with prioritized recommendations, for $350 to $500. The SEO Buildout, from $950, is the implementation: keyword mapping, page title and meta description writing, heading structure and internal linking recommendations, image alt text and schema recommendations, and on-page SEO implementation where appropriate. The Review tells you what needs work; the Buildout does the work.

If you move forward with a larger SEO package, like the SEO Buildout or the SEO Growth Plan, within 30 days of your review, the cost of the review is credited toward that package. You are never paying twice for the same work.
